About Us
I write to inspire, and I write to entertain, and honestly most of the time I can't tell you which one I'm doing. The heavier stuff comes out of my own life, things I lived through and eventually figured out how to write about. The lighter stuff is just me wanting to make someone laugh, or give them a story worth getting lost in. I think both are worth doing. There's already so much weight in the world. I'd rather be the one adding a little light to it.
Lindsey Glass grew up in New York City, the daughter of bestselling novelist Leslie Glass and granddaughter of Milton Gordon, producer of Lassie. She attended The Riverdale Country School before earning her B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and her M.A. from New York University in Communications, Management, and Technology.
Lindsey is a screenwriter, author, and award-winning documentarian. She has written screenplays and television projects — including To Take Your Life, Dark Silk, and The Dog Who Spoke with Gods — and co-produced the documentaries The Secret World of Recovery and The Silent Majority, which premiered on PBS in 2014 and won the 2016 American Society of Addiction Medicine Media Award.
In 2011, Lindsey co-founded Reach Out Recovery with her mother, building it into one of the country's leading recovery and wellness resources, with articles reaching millions of readers worldwide. She created the nonprofit ROR Empowerment to bring recovery resources directly into at-risk communities, and has served as a recovery advocate for two decades — from testifying before Congress to teaching her 2019 self-help book, 100 Tips for Growing Up, in recovery and gang re-entry programs nationwide.
Lindsey's most personal project to date is The Mother-Daughter Relationship Makeover, co-written with her mother and drawn directly from their own years-long estrangement and eventual reconciliation — a story she now shares openly to help other mothers and daughters find their way back to each other.
Lindsey is a frequent speaker, a proud member of Rotary International, and a practicing Buddhist. She lives in Los Angeles.
